According to United Blood Services Executive Director Audrey Gietzen, one in five patients is expected to require a blood transfusion. “More donors are needed to bridge the gap between donations and transfusions,” Gietzen said. “Statistics show that 55% of the population is eligible to donate blood, but only 5% does,” she added. Blood Buddies is designed to solve that problem by rewarding you for bringing new donors to United Blood Services. It’s easy to become a hero by following these simple steps:
- Pick up a Blood Buddies card during your next donation or download the PDF version.
- Enter your contact information on the card.
- Give the card to a friend who has never donated blood before.
- When your friend donates at a United Blood Services location, you will be sent two free movie tickets!
